The Largest 10 Gigabit Ethernet Test
In a test involving 256 ports of 10 Gigabit Ethernet, Spirent TestCenter™ validated the performance the Cisco Nexus 7000 Data Center Switch in several areas including high availability and resiliency as well as performance of IPv4 unicast and multicast traffic. This test was commissioned by Network World magazine and conducted by industry-leading independent test lab, Network Test.

GMI 2008 IPTV and IMS Validated with Spirent
Spirent helped demonstrate key elements over an IMS architecture including end-to-end QoS of VoIP calls, performance of emergency applications such as LBS based E911 services, performance of the mobile core network and quality of IMS-based and non-IMS based IPTV delivery. In addition, Spirent was responsible for the development and implementation of test cases for evaluating video quality and related metrics, and IP network impairments based on ITU-T G.1050-2007.

Carrier Ethernet World Congress Interoperability Event
The Interoperability Showcase organized by the European Advanced Networking Test Center (EANTC) occurred 23-25 September 2008 at the Maritim ProArte in Berlin. With 28 leading international vendors attending, it was the largest and most advanced public Carrier Ethernet multi-vendor showcase ever staged. The vendors participating in the interoperability test event represent more than 90% of the Carrier Ethernet switch and router market share worldwide. Spirent supported the enhancement of Carrier Ethernet by supplying the most advanced test and measurement capabilities provided by Spirent TestCenter.

Testing Cisco’s IPTV Infrastructure
European Advanced Networking Test Center AG (EANTC) selected Spirent testing solutions to analyze Cisco Systems’ IPTV infrastructure in a test commissioned by Light Reading. Spirent’s Global Services team collaborated with EANTC to conduct an independent test of Cisco Systems IPTV infrastructure to verify an end-to-end IPTV and triple-play solution focusing on the network service requirements of broadcast TV and video-on-demand (VOD) applications. For this event, Spirent supplied Spirent TestCenter, Spirent Video Quality Test System and Spirent GEM Ethernet Network and Impairment Emulator.
